Environmental Management System

Pierce Group was one of the first organisations in its sector to recognise its environmental responsibility, undertaking its first Environmental Impact Audit in 1998, the outcome of which was the creation of an Environmental Policy to guide the company's future environmental direction.

Since 1998, as part of its strategic and operational planning & delivery, Pierce Group has reduced and continues to reduce its environmental impact through the delivery of programmes relating to:

  • Improving Operational Efficiency
  • Reducing Wastage
  • Re-engineering Existing Processes
  • Auditing the Environmental Impact of New Technologies and Equipment.

Each year, an Environmental Impact Improvement Programme is included amongst the company's business objectives. Progress on this and other improvement programmes is reported at the Company's monthly Board meetings.

As noted above, Pierce Group have decided to completely review its Environmental Management System in line with ISO 14001 in conjunction with consultants TSM, initial assessment against this standard is expected in June 2009.
