Acquisition of Net-finity Limited
18 November 2009
Pierce Communications has today acquired the customer base and goodwill of Net-finity, the Belfast based web design company.
The acquisition has further strengthened Pierce Communications’ position in the web services space having acquired Glenovation Limited in December 2008 and GoAhead Marketing Limited in July 2009, both building on the company’s web design and internet marketing capabilities.
Robert Pierce, Managing Director of Pierce Communications commented on the acquisition; ‘Web services are one of the key competencies within our integrated marketing and communications portfolio. We welcome our new clients who, in addition to working with a dedicated team of specialists in web design and internet marketing, will also have access to the expertise within our strategic marketing, brand and design consultancy services.
We view this acquisition as a very exciting challenge and one that will further cement our reputation as the leading integrated communications provider to the SME sector in Northern Ireland.”
About Net-finity
Net-finity has built an excellent reputation for delivering strategically focused websites and web-based tools for its clients since commencing business in 2001 and has decided to focus its resources in the development of two of these including www.usedcarsni.com, www.carfinderscotland.co.uk as well as Media Lightbox – a digital asset management system.
In relation to the acquisition, Cecil Hetherington, Managing Director of Net-finity added;
“Because of the changing nature of our business, we reluctantly took the decision earlier this year to stop developing new websites for clients. We further decided that the best outcome for our current clients would be for another company to take responsibility for hosting, maintenance, search engine optimisation and website development.
Our philosophy has always been that the web strategy of a company is about much more than just having a nice looking website, but that a wide range of issues need to be considered such as branding, the brand’s positioning in the market, design, ease of updating, search engine optimisation, security etc. It was important to us that the new company would have a strong understanding of and commitment to all of these issues and more and we are delighted to say, Pierce Communications is the perfect fit.”
